They have brought 5 medals to the Nazarbayev University. In this year, <a href="https://nu.edu.kz/">Nazarbayev University</a> was represented by five students: Bakdauren Narbayev, Bakytzhan Kurmanbek, Nartay Aikyn,
Izat Khamiyev and Zhumazhenis Dairabay.</p>
<p>After months of preparation efforts, <strong>Izat</strong> was awarded a <strong><em>Silver Medal</em></strong>, <strong>Bakdauren</strong>, <strong>Bakytzhan</strong>, <strong>Zhumazhenis</strong> and <strong>Nartay</strong> were awarded <strong><em>4 Bronze Medals</em></strong>. Team leader was <em>Bakhytbek Zhumanov</em>.</p>
<p>The NU Math Team climbed ranking, appearing in the <strong><a href="https://www.imc-math.org.uk/?year=2019&section=results&item=byteam" target="_blank">top-42 universities</a></strong> of the IMC 2019 ranking
, which is nearby ranking of <em>Ecole Polytechnique</em> (<code class="highlighter-rouge">France</code>), <em>Eindhoven University of Technology</em> (<code class="highlighter-rouge">Netherlands</code>) and ahead of result of <em>Nanyang Technological University</em> (<code class="highlighter-rouge">Singapore</code>), etc.
The result was better than last year, NU Team ranked #67 in 2018.</p>

<p>The IMC is one of prestigious competitions for students, organized with the joint participation of the American University in Bulgaria and University College London.
Over the past twenty-five competitions students from more than 200 institutions from over 65 countries all over the world have participated.
Problems given for students are from the fields of Algebra, Real and Complex Analysis, Geometry and Combinatorics.</p>

at the Kazakhstan branch of Moscow State University in Nur-Sultan(Astana), April 18-20, 2019. This event is initiated by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science.</p>
<p>NU Team performed very well. In team ranking, the NU team won the first place in Mathematics major section and
second place in Mathematics and Computational Modeling major section. In the Mathematics major section, all NU students took first and second places. In the mathematics and computational modeling section, NU Team was awarded too.</p>

<p>The AKHIMO contest is an initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This is the first international mathematical Olympiad for undergraduate students with five problems from fields of Algebra, Analysis, Number Theory, Geometry and Combinatorics.</p>
<p>The Olympiad participants were from 58 universities around world including the UK, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, the Czech Republic, UAE, Iran, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Malaysia, Estonia, etc.</p>
<p>The NU Team was represented by Maksat Kuanyshbay (3rd year), Bakytzhan Kurmanbek (2nd year), Bakdauren Narbayev (1st year), Saddam Asmatullayev (2nd year), Azat Azamat (3rd year). Bakdauren Narbayev, Bakytzhan Kurmanbek, Maksat Kuanyshbay won Silver medals, Saddam Asmatullayev was awarded an honorable mention, and Azat Azamat received a certificate.
